This project was an epic celebration & showcase of Croydon’s diversely talented young musicians & composers performing original compositions created by the Young Croydon Composers over the last few years and 3 specially commissioned pieces by award-winning musicians. The final performance at Croydon's iconic venue Fairfield Halls on 23 March 2024 featured the young composers along with Croydon Music & Arts orchestras & choir, Croydon Academy of Eastern Arts' Indian classical singers & The Rap Club Oasis Shirley Park. The large youth ensemble was also joined by renowned guest artists Dede Davi, Arun Ghosh & Nadia Rose alongside musical director / mentor Shri and musician / mentor Dennis Rollins.

The evening also featured huge puppets of 8 musical icons of Croydon, created by Scanner Inc, in the foyer of Fairfield Halls accompanied by dancers and choreographers.

 

The project was produced by Shirin Sriram of Drum The Bass and funded by Croydon Council & Arts Council England.
